Background

MPEWU Credit Finance Limited is an independently registered microfinance institution based in Mpigi, Uganda. We empower families, youth, and persons with disabilities through inclusive enterprise and livelihoods programs that combine access to capital, financial literacy, and enterprise mentorship.

Our Journey

MPEWU began as a community initiative to empower parents of children with special needs and marginalized families with sustainable domestic source of livelihood. Members organized in groups are supported with savings, credit, and enterprise guidance.

MPEWU has since expanded operations and was formally registered under the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority – Reg No. 634 as non-depository institution in 2022. As of 2025, MPEWU serves over 500 clients across three(3) branches in Mpigi district.

To strengthen financial inclusion, enterprise growth, and sustainable livelihoods for underserved communities.

Our Goal

To empower and build capacity of economically active poor vulnerable communities through business training, management skills and access to a revolving Fund through saving and borrowing.

A resilient and economically empowered Mpigi, where marginalized communities thrive through knowledge, access to capital, and sustainable enterprises.

Our Objectives

Through the following objectives, we strive to achieve MPEWU’s goal;

  1. Economically liberate marginalized and vulnerable groups (PWD’s).
  2. Promote positive community mindset through inclusive community working relationships.
  3. Create community awareness about importance of saving and borrowing
  4. To train financial and adult literacy while promoting financial self-reliance.
  5. To promote health awareness through promoting social groups that share reproductive health, drug abuse, HIV and hygienic ideas among members.
  6. To combat domestic violence through boosting family income.
